Last Friday of the Month - Coffee Morning at Root and Branch - 11am - 12pm

Our monthly meetups continue on the £2 for a cuppa and biscuit to cover costs. A chance for a chat and sharing experiences of being bereaved.

Tree planting day and Friends & Family Group AGM on Saturday 21 November from 11am.

This year's AGM is particularly important. From 2027, Westmill Burial Ground will no longer be taking new bookings, and the office will be reduced to a minimum, operating remotely.

For many of us, Westmill is much more than a burial ground. It is a special place, with a strong sense of community, shared memories and connections that we want to preserve for years to come.

We would like to propose forming an FFG Community Team to help care for Westmill and keep its community spirit alive.

The idea is simple. We are looking for a small group of people willing to self-organise, and each commit to a few days a year to organise and run our annual cycle of events and gatherings and, for example, to make sure we always have new photos for the website and our social media. Together, this team would help ensure Westmill remains a welcoming, cared-for, and connected place as the burial ground operates differently.

We hope this offers a practical, manageable way for people to get involved and share the responsibility as Liz and Adam gradually step back. We will all remain Friends and Family, and the office will continue to communicate essential information.

The AGM will be an opportunity to discuss this proposal and ask questions about Westmill's future.

The Directors of Westmill and the FFG committee warmly encourage you to attend the AGM and join us at Westmill for some or all of the day. 

  • 11 am: Join us and help plant some trees at the burial; bring boots.
  • 12 pm: A chance to try out What3Words to locate a grave.
  • 1 pm: We will offer a simple lunch in the Root & Branch building before the AGM, for a voluntary contribution of £7.50 (cash only).
  • 2 pm - 3:30 pm: Friends & Family Group AGM at Root & Branch, Westmill Farm, Watchfield, Oxfordshire, SN6 8TH – or join online (we will share a meeting link closer to the day).
