This book, published by PCCS, is written by our co-founder Liz Rothschild. 274 vivid everyday stories drawn from her own life, her work and her audiences when touring her one woman show Outside the Box – A Live Show about Death.
The stories are grouped into chapters under themes such as children, dementia, getting ready, sudden death, the process of dying, funerals and bereavement. A cornucopia of wisdom – funny, moving, informative, contradictory and thought-provoking. Each chapter includes an expert commentary and resources from professionals such as a doctor, nurse and midwife, dementia expert, therapists, funeral experts, a former hospice chaplain and staff from Winston’s Wish, Child Bereavement UK and SANDS.
Liz hopes the book will be like a wise friend you can turn to when in need of support, advice or a laugh. All of us have to face our mortality or that of someone we care about and this book can help this journey feel a lot less lonely. A few copies are available in the office.
The best way to buy the book is from the publishers PCCS. Postage is free in the UK. It is also available from Waterstones and Amazon and from all good independent bookstores.
