The site changes throughout the year and is beautiful at all times in different ways. It is rewarding to come up and see how much a tree or shrub has grown, to watch the older areas mature and settle so that to most people it would not be obvious there are graves there. At certain times flowers that have been planted will make a lovely show on individual graves and in some cases are establishing across large sections of the site such as cowslips which now appear in many more places than where they were originally planted
Bee orchids came of their own accord once conditions were right and as is their wont appear and disappear year on year in different areas that they like i.e. short grass. Sometimes you will come and find a flower has just decided to grace your area. My father acquired a beautiful patch of white campion one year and then it went again.
Here is a list of photographs in alphabetical showing some but not all of the flowers on the site using their common names. Do send in any pictures you get of other species or ask us to identify any you don’t know.
