Approaching from the A420
The site is about ½ mile from the A420 which links Swindon and Oxford, it is close to the five wind turbines which make a good landmark. Look for the B4508 marked Highworth and Sevenhampton on the west side of the A420 (located between the two turnings to Shrivenham). Proceed approx ½ mile along the B4508 until you see a wooden gate on your left with a sign for the burial ground. The office is approximately 400 metres further on down the hill on the left in Westmill farmyard.
Approaching from the A419 from Cirencester
Take the junction sign posted Highworth. When arriving at the traffic lights in Highworth turn right. You will come to a roundabout, take the second exit, the B4000, marked for Shrivenham. After a mile or so go straight over a crossroads and then left at a fork signposted Oxford/Swindon (A420), this is the B4508. Take this left hand fork, proceed along the road about a mile and over a small bridge. Westmill Farm will be on your right about 100 m past the bridge and our office can be found at the far end of the farmyard in a small red brick building. To get to the burial ground continue uphill past the farm and turn right at the brow of the hill. You will see a small wooden sign on the road and a larger sign on the gate. This is the entrance to the burial ground parking area. If you get to the A420 you have gone too far!
Car Park
There is an area large enough for 8 to 10 cars in our car park beside the burial ground. For larger funerals additional parking is available by the wind turbines.
Disabled access
Anyone who is disabled or cannot walk long distances will have priority in our nearest car park. It is also sometimes possible to park in the burial ground if needed.
Public Transport
The nearest train stations are Oxford and Swindon. Near to the rail stations are the bus stations. The stagecoach 66 bus goes between Oxford and Swindon. It stops at Watchfield, our nearest village. You need to ask for the stop at Majors Road. It is a 20 minute walk from there to the burial ground. You can see a map showing the location of the bus stop on www.travelinesw.com – go to south west section and then enter the bus stop information as Watchfield Post Office.
The site is always open for you to visit and we are always happy to show you around or chat about your requirements at our office.
