Friends and Family Day 2022

What a wonderful day we had on Saturday. The weather was absolutely beautiful - clear and warm allowing people to linger and chat and enjoy the view and the peaceful surroundings in between bouts of planting. It is lovely to see so many busy about the site, tending their graves and planting bulbs and plants elsewhere on site for everyone to enjoy. The willow bower got a trim and new growth was woven back in under the knowledgeable eye of Chris Park. Sue Smart (Sue smart landscaping) oversaw the bulbs and plants and Tony Hinkes led the tree planting party. Adam oversaw all of it and Becky organised all the pre orders and marking of plots. What did I do? Someone said to me “That was worth 10 hours of therapy. A joyous morning” and others shared the value of talking to others and being able to be open about their grief without feeling self-conscious or alone with it. It is really wonderful to see our dream of creating a community of people associated with the burial ground becoming a reality.
