How to find us

If you use a satnav the Postcode SN6 8TH is actually for Westmill Farm. The Burial Ground is on the same road as the farm but 400m east, uphill, opposite the Westmill Community Windfarm so you will see the 5 turbines very clearly as you get nearer to the site.
here for any Traffic issues

Approaching from the A420
The site is about ½ mile from the A420 which links Swindon and Oxford. Between the villages of Watchfield and Shrivenham on the west side of the A420 is the B4508 marked Highworth and Sevenhampton. You take this turning and proceed approx ½ mile along it until you see a wooden gate on your left with a large sign for the burial ground. You enter this and then proceed through the second gate and into the burial ground.

Approaching from the A419 from Cirencester
You take the junction sign posted Highworth. When arriving at the traffic lights in Highworth you turn right and you come to a roundabout. You take the second exit, the B4000 marked for Shrivenham. You leave Highworth, pass the golf course, go straight over a crossroads and then come to a left hand fork signposted Oxford/Swindon (A420) actually the B4508. You take this left hand fork, proceed along the road through a pinch point until you go over a bridge with another pinch point (both pinch points only 6'6" wide!). You pass a small group of buildings on your right and a coloured metal sign saying Root and Branch. You go uphill and pass turning on your left and you will see on your right a large sign on the gate. This is the entrance to the burial ground. If you get to the A420 you have gone too far.

Car Park
There is an area large enough for a hearse and 8 cars beyond this gate in a fenced off corner of an adjacent field. You enter this and then proceed through the other gate and into the burial ground.

Disabled access
Anyone who is disabled or cannot walk long distances will have priority in our nearest car park and if they also need to drive onto site that should be possible.

Public Transport
The nearest train stations are Oxford and Swindon. Near to the rail stations are the bus stations. The stagecoach 66 bus goes between Oxford and Swindon. It stops at Watchfield, our nearest village. You need to ask for the stop at Majors Road. It is a 20 minute walk from there to the burial ground. You can see a map showing the location of the bus stop on www.travelinesw.com – go to south west section and then enter the bus stop information as Watchfield Post Office.

The site is always open for you to visit if you want to
and we can meet you there or answer any questions that may arise for
you by telephone or email.
