February 2016 Blog

This week our son Laurie went off to South America for seven months. You can imagine how we felt watching him go off without a backward look through the barrier with his friends. But I am very proud to say that in the car down to the airport he told us he had written a letter for us to open in case of something terrible happening.  He had come to a rehearsed reading of my show Outside the Box – A Live Show about Death recently and said that although he had already planned to do that it made him decide to tell us he had and actually hand over the letter rather than leave it for us hoping we would find it.  I feel very proud of him for thinking this through in this way at the tender age of 21 and wish a few more of us older ones would start to think in this way.  70% of us still die intestate with no will or letter of wishes written.
